LeBron James Praises Russell Westbrook Amid Lakers Trade Rumors

LeBron James has nothing but words of praise for Russell Westbrook and decided to stand by his teammate despite recent trade rumors. Numerous reports suggest that the Los Angeles Lakers will move on from the struggling player. The Lakers have a 23-23 record at this point of the 2021-22 NBA season and most fans place the blame on Westbrook. And Frank Vogel, of course… LeBron heard all the rumors and his reaction is priceless.

King James has zero issues with Westbrook’s struggles. He even said that Broddie was the “head of the snake” during the latest postgame press conference. Westbrook finished the 116-105 win over the Orlando Magic with 18 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. This looks more like him. Well, fans wouldn’t be too happy with the fact that Westbrook shot 8-17 from the field. His struggles to shoot make things really hard for everyone involved.

LeBron has voiced his support for Westbrook on so many occasions. He did the same when head coach Frank Vogel benched Westbrook. Reporters asked LeBron if he approves the benching, but superstar just told everyone that he will be watching movie with his wife Savannah. He won’t say anything bad behind Westbrook’s back.

Let’s not forget that the Lakers traded three players to get Westbrook. This trade didn’t work well for the franchise for obvious reasons. Kyle Kuzma is doing a good job with his new team though, so yes, this trade worked for him.

If the Lakers embrace the idea of trading Westbrook they will have to try really hard to find the right trade partner. Marc Stein reported that Westbrook may end up playing with his former team. Will the Houston Rockets do an attempt to get him? That would be another unexpected move for both the Lakers and Houston.

Westbrook is safe for now. He helped the team beat Orlando. His future with the Lakers depends on his performance in the upcoming games. Will he improve his stats? It’s a long season after all…
