Magic Johnson Calls Out LeBron James, Lakers After Embarrassing 37-Point Blowout

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a 133-96 loss to the Denver Nuggets. It was a terrible blowout loss to Nikola Jokic’s team despite all the necessary changes Frank Vogel made. Where did things go wrong? Lakers icon Magic Johnson watched the game and now he calls out LeBron James and his Lakers teammates for the lack of interest.

Johnson didn’t like the way Denver outplayed LeBron and Co. He even wrote that team owner Jeanie Buss deserves better. Well, he literally took a shot at Lakers players.

“After being blown out by the Nuggets 133-96, we as Lakers fans can accept being outplayed but we deserve more than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency. Owner Jeanie Buss, you deserve better,” Johnson said.

Nuggets players did a wonderful job. They reached the 100-point mark in the third quarter of the night. Nuggets starters recorded double-digit stats. Jeff Green offered 26 points and Bones Hyland provided 27 off the bench.

To make things worse, Russell Westbrook got into a thing with Aaron Gordon. The Lakers veteran ran into a foul from Gordon and things got a little messy. These two had to be separated and each player was assessed a technical.

Jokic finished the night with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists. A nice triple-double, right? LeBron finished the night with 25 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.

Anthony Davis is still out due to a MCL sprain. LA is relatively healthy and analysts believe the team struggles with another problem within the lineup. How will Vogel handle the pressure? The front office may consider trading some players away. Who will be the first player to go?

Several players have been linked to the Lakers and some of them make perfect sense for the team.

The Utah Jazz are next on the list on Monday. It will be a home game for the Lakers. Let’s hope that the team will be able to put an end to the losing streak. It’s a long season after all.
