Report: Patriots Get Good News On Rookie D-Tackle

The New England Patriots finished the regular season with a loss to the Miami Dolphins. Christian Barmore remained on the ground after the Dolphins’ third-down conversion late in the fourth quarter of the game. The Patriots rookie d-tackle was unable to put weight on his foot and initial reports weren’t that optimistic. Mike Giardi from NFL Network was the first to share the discouraging update. Joejuan Williams hit the rookie really hard. Barmore remained down for a few minutes and the training staff helped him leave the field. The situation seemed really serious and he was carted to the locker room.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport has some good news for Patriots fans. According to him, the MRI revealed “no minor injury.” That’s more than good news. It seems like Barmore is ready to join the team for Saturday’s wild-card round playoff game against the Buffalo Bills. The team needs to see more from him during the game.

The Patriots rookie d-tackle to suit up for the game

Barmore is one of the best pass rushers for the 2021 Patriots squad. Barmore saw action in all 17 games for the Patriots this season. He had only 1.5 sacks on the year, but played 56.4 percent of the Patriots’ defensive snaps. Head coach Bill Belichick trusts his talent which is why he gave him a chance to play with the team.

Barmore ranks second in total pressures, right behind Pro Bowl outside linebacker Matthew Judon. The rookie also ties for second in quarterback hits in the regular season.

Sunday was a tough day for Patriots players. Isaiah Wynn sustained ankle injury and had to leave the game. He saw just nine offensive snaps before sustaining his injury. Justin Herron stepped in as a replacement for him.

The Patriots have a lot of talented players on the current roster. They have to stay healthy and avoid COVID-19. That’s the only thing that matters now. Mac Jones and his teammates have a chance to do something great. We all hope for the best. New England players are motivated to win.
