Russell Westbrook Reacts to Getting ‘Triggered’ by Miles Bridges Over Cocky Taunt

Russell Westbrook is one of the most competitive players in the NBA, and Miles Bridges knows it really well. Some would compare Westbrook to Kobe Bryant. His work ethic is incredible, and so is his explosiveness on the basketball court. The Los Angeles Lakers traded three players to the Washington Wizards to get the talented veteran. Although Westbrook has his own struggles in the regular season, his game is still sharp. It was on full display Friday night.

The Lakers played against the Charlotte Hornets and Westbrook brought up the best version of himself in the final minutes of the game. LA was trailing the Hornets by 20 points, and Westbrook decided to do something about it. He hit 11 of the final 13 points.

Who is responsible for this? It’s Westbrook. His explosiveness and absolute dominance. The Lakers were without LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and Westbrook understood the assignment. Of course, he got a little help from Bridges.

Russell Westbrook teaches Miles Bridges a lesson

The Hornets player made a taunt against Broddie suggesting that he is too small. Westbrook didn’t like any of that. His revenge was sweet.

Reporters wanted to know more about this particular moment. Westbrook knows his limits and he admitted that he was triggered by Bridges’ taunt.

“I think he was trying to say I was too small or something. But that ain’t the case, and he know better than that. But that was definitely something that in my mind I’m like: ‘OK,’ that’s a good trigger for me, to be able to turn up a little notch. Especially during that time of game when we had a chance to close it possibly.”

Bridges learned his lesson and he will probably stop making ugly gestures at opposing players.

Westbrook showed everyone that he is a good fit for the Lakers. The front office doesn’t consider trading him at this point and his spot is safe. Will Westbrook get more time with the Lakers in the future? It’s too soon to make any comments or predictions. He has to earn that deal, right?
