Russell Westbrook’s Strong Message to Lakers Amid Major Slump Will Please LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers struggle to win games right now. Anthony Davis missed a big chunk of the regular season due to his MCL strain. LeBron James has been in and out due to his injuries, too. Lakers players miss too much time due to injuries and COVID. It’s hard to build chemistry when you spend a lot of time at the sideline. Or at home. Russell Westbrook delivered a message for the Lakers and this may be the right motivational message for the team.
The Lakers have a 24-27 record at this point of the regular season. They hit the rock bottom of the Western Conference. No one ever thought that the Lakers would end up ninth in the conference standings because they entered the regular season as favorites to win the championships.
Russell Westbrook has motivational message for Lakers teammates
If you ask Westbrook, he will say that the Lakers shouldn’t lose their motivation. He is still an optimist. Oh wait. He will always be an optimist. Things can change right away.
The Lakers guard has so much to offer and he is one of the most competitive players in the NBA. Is this enough? Westbrook’s struggles are a bit ugly, and fans are impatient. This man is a star, but he struggles to make an impact. He struggles to shoot. But, he also doesn’t give up.
“Never give up or give in. It’s not something, in my opinion, should seep into anybody’s mind,” the veteran said.
Lakers players have to stay healthy and motivated. Losing games is not something LA can afford at this point. Lakers players shouldn’t waste their time on the floor. They all signed with the Lakers for a reason. This reason should keep them motivated in the third part of the season.
Westbrook’s struggles made analysts talk about his potential departure from LA. Some say that Rob Pelinka should find a trade partner for Broddie. Getting rid of him won’t be that easy though. He costs a lot of money and his struggles would definitely keep potential suitors away from any negotiations.
