This Fact About Former Bill Belichick Assistants Is Going Viral

Bill Belichick is the best head coach in the NFL. He has won a lot of games with his teams and yes, a lot of coaches have tried to match his success. Fun fact? No one has ever succeeded to match Great Belichick. Now we have another fact about Bill Belichick and his assistants.

Belichick’s assistants usually look for bigger opportunities in the NFL. I mean, being a head coach in the league is a big thing, right? Everyone is trying to get a chance to coach their own team. Unfortunately, most assistants didn’t do well on this position.

“There are no Bill Belichick assistants left as NFL head coaches,” the NFL insider noted.

Fun fact about Bill Belichick and his assistants

On Monday, the Miami Dolphins fired former Belichick defensive assistant Brian Flores. He led the team to 9-8 record, but the Dolphins had different plans for their head coach position.

There’s more. On Tuesday, the New York Giants fired Joe Judge. He was coaching the Giants for two seasons. In other words, no former Belichick assistants are NFL coaches at the moment.

Here’s a list of former Belichick assistants who became head coaches in the league:

– Romeo Crennel
– Eric Mangini
– Josh McDaniels
– Jim Schwartz
– Bill O’Brien
– Matt Patricia
– Flores
– Judge

Each of these assistants were coordinators under the Patriots head coach. Flores is an exception. He didn’t really hold the defensive coordinator job title.

Most of the coaches on this list didn’t have success as head coaches. O’Brien was good in Houston and he has a chance to land another coaching gig. Flores will probably get a chance somewhere else.

Nick Saban was defensive coordinator under Belichick in Cleveland. Pat Hill and Kirk Ferentz were his assistants years ago. They became good college head coaches. Al Groh has great performance at Virginia.

Belichick doesn’t mind any of this. He is only focused on his season with the Patriots. His team will play the wild-card game on Saturday. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones earned Belichick’s trust and will probably be the franchise quarterback for the Patriots.
