Fellow NFL Cornerback Makes Pitch To Patriots’ JC Jackson

Mike Hilton made a pitch to New England Patriots’ JC Jackson on Twitter. I guess the Cincinnati Bengals corner was provoked by Jackson’s most recent comments about his situation in New England.

During his conversation with Phil Perry from NBC Sports Boston, Jackson said that the Patriots probably don’t need him. He would love to play with the team, but he also wants to get a nice deal. I mean, the 26-year-old sure deserves it. Jackson is one of the players who enter free agency spring.

Jackson said that he is not really important to the team. He is well aware of his potential, but the lack of interest really confuses him. NFL teams usually don’t waste any time and make offers to players who catch their attention. Head coach Bill Belichick was really proud of Jackson and everything he accomplished with the team in 2021. However, the Patriots haven’t made a move yet.

Strong pitch to JC Jackson

The cornerback revealed that the Patriots approached him in the regular season and mentioned an extension. That’s it. They didn’t say anything else. Jackson focused on the game and didn’t pay much attention to his contract situation. The young cornerback didn’t want to talk about contracts during tough games.

Several analysts believe that Jackson is the best cornerback to enter the open market this offseason. He sure is a good candidate for the franchise tag. Belichick has used the tag 10 times during his time with the Patriots, but he used it twice in the last nine years. Jackson loves the game, and if the Patriots tag him, he’d hit the field and do his game.

That’s why Hilton encouraged Jackson to make a move and join the Bengals.

“@MR_INT I know a spot where you?ll be much appreciated,” Hilton tweeted.

New England lacked depth at cornerback and they will have to work really hard to replace Jackson. He earned $3.384 in 2021 and he would go after a big raise in the next few weeks. Let’s see what happens in the offseason. Will Belichick give him a pay raise?
