Lakers Potentially Discussed Deal With Rockets Involving Russell Westbrook, John Wall and Christian Wood

The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to trade some of their players to upgrade the roster. Russell Westbrook is sitting on the hot chair. His struggles are obvious and Lakers fans aren’t really happy with his performance. Some have even called for his departure. The front office was loud and clear. They are not trading someone who joined the team a few months ago. He joined the team for a reason. This reason wasn’t enough. The Lakers may be eyeing their options, and NBA analysts believe that they should work on a deal with the Houston Rockets.

Lakers considered sealing a deal with the Rockets

Does this make sense? The Lakers could call the Rockets to get John Wall. Houston doesn’t like Wall, but they don’t like Westbrook either. They’ll just let him go in free agency.

The Houston-Lakers trade makes sense and it’s actually an old topic. Westbrook was benched twice and this added fuel to the fire.

As you may be guessing, the Lakers have considered sending Westbrook to the Rockets. The same deal includes Talen Horton-Tucker and a future first-rounder. What will LA get with this deal? John Wall and Christian Wood. The latter is averaging 17.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game with his team while averaging 37.4 percent from beyond the arc on 5.0 attempts.

Westbrook’s stats are quite bad. He is averaging 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game. He struggled to create good connection with his teammates. We all remember his heartbreaking moment with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He tried to cheer them up but it didn’t’ work. They were too frustrated to pay attention to his words. Reporters asked Westbrook about this moment, and his words were really… expected. He tried to help his teammates but things didn’t go the way everyone planned.

Let’s see if Pelinka plans to change his plans in the offseason. LA has to finish the regular season and go through the final results. One thing stands for sure. Some players will have to go.
