Lakers Star Anthony Davis Makes Brutally Honest Admission on Russell Westbrook

Anthony Davis made a clear admission about Russell Westbrook and his benching, and let’s just say he spoke in the name of many fans. Westbrook struggled to make an impact throughout the entire season. His struggles got a bit worse in the game against the New York Knicks.

Westbrook hit just five points and fans even asked him to stop shooting at one point of the game. His 1-for-10 shooting was disappointing, and so were his four turnovers. There’s more. Broddie missed free throws, too.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James make similar admission about Russell Westbrook

If you ask Davis, he will say that Westbrook should stop overthinking everything. It’s all in his head. He is an excellent player and the Lakers traded for him for a reason.

“He’s just got to stay out of his own head, just gotta continue to play and do the little things,” Davis told reporters after the game. “When I was going through the whole little thing when I wasn’t playing well, I tried to always do the little things for our team, the intangibles. That kind of gets you going, gets you in a rhythm. That’s what he has to do.”

Lakers players have his back and Westbrook should take that into consideration. Davis doubled down again, suggesting that Broddie should continue doing his job without overthinking his move.

“Just stay in his ear,” Davis told the media. “It can be frustrating. The fans obviously want to see him play better. But one thing you can’t do is put too much pressure on yourself. You got to go out there and play freely. There were some shots tonight that he usually takes in rhythm, and he kind of passed up or hesitated. [LeBron] was just telling him, like ‘We don’t care if you miss every one, just play. Shoot your rhythm shots. Don’t hesitate.’ Obviously, it’s easier said than done, just because when you’re in it you don’t want to be missing shots. I mean, he doesn’t try to miss. A lot of the shots he takes are shots he can make.”

LeBron James agrees with Davis. He is well aware of the fact that Westbrook is an excellent player and he’d never doubt his ability.
