Mac Jones Raises Important Point About First Patriots Offseason

Mac Jones finished his first season with the New England Patriots and he is entering an important offseason. Jones led the Patriots to a good record and the team also had a seven-game winning streak. NFL analysts had great expectations from him and yes, he did a really good job. The Patriots didn’t make the Super Bowl this season, but Jones did his best.

Jones will use his time off to rest and get ready for another long season. It’s a long offseason for him and the Patriots, and the rookie will try to get the best of it.

“I think that’s the fun part about everything in the offseason,” Jones said during an interview on Super Bowl LVI Radio Row. “You get a second just to catch your breath and figure everything out. This has definitely been the longest year. It’s been almost two years of football. I love football and I love to keep going as best I can, but it’s always good to step away and evaluate what you can get better at, too.”

Mac Jones is ready for another season with the Patriots, his offseason will be quiet

Bill Belichick’s first rounder will use his time off to work on his skillset and he will also adjust his diet. The Patriots decided to trust him, and gave him the keys to the offense.

“I think back to my freshman year at Alabama,” Jones said. “You’re kind of figuring everything out. And then you get older, and you’re just more experienced with everything — the media, the games, everything.”

What’s first on his to-do list? The Patriots quarterback will spend most of his offseason in Foxboro. This is his home and he won’t travel much. A real pro, huh?

“I want to be back close to home in New England in the offseason, because we obviously have our place there, and just figure out ways to become a better quarterback,” Jones said. “And then do whatever we can to put more points up on the board so we can win more games.”

Well, fans will be waiting for Jones in September. He will be playing with a slightly different roster next season. Josh McDaniels won’t be there, too.
