New York Giants Send Clear Message About Bill Belichick

Brian Flores triggered an avalanche of reactions in the NFL. The former Miami Dolphins head coach filed a lawsuit against the league, mentioning words like “racism” and pretty much anything related to it. In his lawsuit, Flores mentioned several teams and head coaches. The New York Giants are one of these teams, and they have just sent a message regarding New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Yes, Flores mentioned him, too.

Flores not only mentioned Belichick but also shared screenshots of their text exchange.

Giants deliver strong message about Flores and Belichick

The whole thing started when Flores interviewed with The Giants for their head coaching vacancy. In his texts, Belichick congratulated Flores on his job. Fun fact? Flores hadn’t even interviewed with the team yet.

Of course, Belichick made a mistake and thought that he had texted Brian Daboll. Flores got really frustrated. Why were the Giants interviewing him if Daboll was the one getting the job? He believes that the Giants preferred a white coach over him. Yes, the whole situation got really ugly and now Flores accuses pretty much everyone involved.

Belichick apologized for the mistake. His text showed that the Giants had already made their mind.

The Giants took notice of the entire situation and released a statement. They say that they did a legitimate coaching search, adding that Flores was really a candidate for the job. In their message, the team said that Belichick was never related to their search. The Giants claim that Belichick had no insight into their coaching search.

“In addition, Mr. Belichick does not speak for and has no affiliation with the Giants. Mr. Belichick’s text exchange provides no insight into what actually transpired during our head coaching search,” the statement said.

This situation won’t end here. There’s so much going on. We have at least one good reason to believe that Flores won’t stop here. It’s a tricky situation for everyone involved. When it comes to Belichick, he will have to search for an offensive coordinator. Josh McDaniels left the team to join the Las Vegas Raiders.
