Report: Lakers ‘Hope’ Anthony Davis Will Play Again in the Regular Season

Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka has a big issue to solve. One of his superstars is out again, and this injury may put an end to all playoff hopes Lakers players have right now. Anthony Davis has missed a big chunk of the regular season and he is out again.

According to latest updates, Davis is dealing with a mid-foot strain and doctors will evaluate him in four weeks. In other words, Davis is set to miss the next four weeks at the sideline. The situation is less than ideal for the purple and gold. LeBron James and his teammates will end up in the play-in tournament again. Of course, this game won’t guarantee their spot in the playoffs. We all know what happened in the 2020-21 NBA season.

Anthony Davis to return by the end of the regular season

The Lakers believe they can have AD back by the end of the regular season. The All-Star weekend is here, meaning Davis will get an extra week of rest without even missing more games.

“The Lakers are saying it’s a month before he’s re-evaluated,” said Adrian Wojnarowski on the “NBA Today” program. “I’m told the hope is they can at least get Anthony Davis back in the lineup and playing during the regular season.

“There’s only six weeks left in the season once we come out of All-Star break, and you have a Laker team right in ninth place in the West, four games below .500. That’s trying to hold onto the play-in. So I think for the Lakers, they have to be able to find a way to hang in there, get a healthy Anthony Davis back before the postseason and then try to make a run. But they will have dug a pretty deep hole at that point to try to make a run in the postseason.”

We really hope AD returns before it’s too late. NBA analysts are a little worried about his health. The Lakers big man has missed too many games this season. Will the Lakers front office keep him after all?
