Stephen Curry Opens Up on ‘Inspirational’ Last Encounter With Kobe Bryant in Person

Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the NBA and he looked up to Kobe Bryant. Yes, you read it right. The Golden State Warriors superstar had one special encounter with the Black Mamba and he will always remember it. Kobe was an idol for many young players, and Curry is definitely one of them.

Former and current NBA players made great memories with the basketball icon. He was a role model for all of them. Curry uses every opportunity to talk about Kobe and this time he shared details of their final encounter. It was really inspirational.

“I was in L.A. and had dinner with him and one of his business associates,” Curry told The Athletic’s Sam Amick. “He was an open book. But I remember just sitting down and him taking me on a journey of what he had been doing before he retired, in that first year after he retired, and then what he was currently doing. All of it sounded amazing because it was true to him and authentic in terms of what story he was trying to tell, and what was important to him at that moment.

“And a lot of it was centered around his kids, and the girls, so that was the most inspirational thing. … That was the last time I saw him in person.”

Stephen Curry and Kobe Bryant had nothing but respect for one another

Bryant was a true inspiration for NBA players. He helped his teammates accomplish great things. The Los Angeles Lakers won a lot of titles with his help.

Curry follows his footsteps and his team has had great success, too. He and the Warriors were a bit low in the last couple of seasons, but hey, they do look good now. It’s a great competition for everyone and Curry has a chance to win a ring.

Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and seven others died in a deadly crash outside Los Angeles. Their helicopter crashed and all nine aboard lost their lives. The world lost a legend and a young star.
