Bill Belichick, Patriots Scouting These Top Prospects At Georgia Pro Day

The New England Patriots entered the offseason with great needs and they will have to fill up some of the holes on their roster. The team needs strong weapons for quarterback Mac Jones. Head coach Bill Belichick has his eyes on a few prospects and traveled to Georgia to attend the pre-draft Pro Day. Director of player personnel Matt Groh and senior football advisor Matt Patricia joined Belichick.

The Patriots head coach had a few good reasons to travel to Georgia. This year’s group has great talents and Belichick can easily find his next defensive players among the Bulldogs. Who is the first Georgia prospect to join the team? Some would bet on edge rusher Travon Walker. Getting him makes sense because the Patriots traded Chase Winovich. They got another linebacker in return but Belichick will need a few more to add depth to the unit. Defensive tackles Jordan Davis and Devonte Wytt and linebacker Nakobe Dean make good sense at this point. These players are expected to be drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Linebackers Quay Walker and Channing Tindall will be selected on Day 2. The same goes to safety Lewis Cine and cornerback Derion Kendrick.

NFL analysts believe that the Patriots will try to get Dean in the first round. The Patriots have to get enough linebackers and cornerbacks this offseason. They also need receivers.

James Cook, RB
Zamir White, RB
Justin Shaffer, OL
Jamaree Salyer, OL

Belichick can get one of these players with the No.21 pick. He also has No.54 and No.85 this season. That’s not all. The Patriots also have four more selections on the third day of the draft.
