DeAndre Jordan Takes Shot at Lakers in 1st Post-Release Comments

DeAndre Jordan used the very first opportunity to take a shot at the Los Angeles Lakers. The franchise got him hoping that he’d help the veteran-studded roster win a title. Jordan didn’t do any of that. He played worse than most players on the Lakers roster.

Things got stuck in the middle of nowhere and Jordan wanted to leave the team. The Lakers didn’t try really hard to keep him around. Jordan is part of the Philadelphia 76ers now.

DeAndre Jordan takes a shot at the Lakers in the middle of a bad season

Jordan made sure everyone understands how happy he is with the 76ers. He is playing with a new team and yes, he really tries to get the best of this opportunity. In his first convo with the media following the release from the Lakers, Jordan said that he was happy to join a team that could “go further in the postseason.”

“I enjoyed my time there, for sure,” he said. “Obviously, this is an opportunity where I’m familiar with Doc [Rivers] so this is a chance to come here and play a little more and have a chance to go further in the postseason.”

Was this a shot at the Lakers? They are ninth in the Western Conference and things look really bad at the moment. Is this the reason Jordan had to leave the Lakers?

He trusts his instincts and made the best decision for his future. Yes, Jordan believes that the Lakers can have better success later in the season, but he wants to do something about his future at this particular moment.

“I do think those guys (the Lakers) are going to have some success late,” Jordan said. “But this was just the best opportunity, I feel like for me.”

Truth is, the Lakers don’t need Jordan to win. He wasn’t of great help for the team either. Let’s just say Jordan wasn’t a factor at all. That’s why the Lakers didn’t try hard to keep him on their roster.

If you ask LeBron James, he would say that Lakers players won’t shut down their season.
