Marc Stein Has Troubling Update On Russell Westbrook

The Los Angeles Lakers look really bad right now. It doesn’t get any worse than this. Things got so bad that fans started talking about each and every trade option on the table. Rob Pelinka didn’t make a move at the trade deadline but this didn’t stop the rumors. Oh yes, some people had the courage to say that Pelinka should trade LeBron James. Marc Stein added Russell Westbrook to the equation.

Russ struggles more than any player on the roster. The Lakers signed him to be the third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Westbrook didn’t meet expectations. Simple as that. His struggles are obvious and getting rid of him seems like a really good idea right now.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel benched Westbrook on so many occasions this season. He won’t let him finish games. According to latest reports, Westbrook is not really happy about this. Stein reported that Westbrook has shown “defiance” regarding his role with the team. Vogel had different plans for him and Russ didn’t like any of that. The veteran appreciates his hard work and trusts his skills. Unfortunately, none of that has helped the Lakers win games.

Westbrook believes he deserves the right to close games. His stats are good and he has nine All-Star appearances. Well, Vogel wouldn’t agree with this one.

The Lakers head coach said that the team discussed the situation, adding that this change would be of great help for the team. Vogel insists on using players who can win the game. Westbrook, obviously, is not one of them. He is one of the most competitive players in the NBA, but still, he is not a healthy fit for the Lakers.

Westbrook doesn’t play elite basketball this offseason but he is doing a great job. If you take his turnovers aside, of course. These turnovers put him in a rather complicated situation in LA. Heckling fans can’t get their hands off of him. Broddie even engaged into a thing with some of them. Things heat up instantly whenever Westbrook takes the stage.
