New Patriots Linebacker Mack Wilson Reveals Jersey Number He’ll Wear

The New England Patriots got a bunch of new players and head coach Bill Belichick won’t even stop here. The team is expected to make a few more moves to fill the empty spots on the 2022 roster. Several veterans left the team in free agency and the team brought new guys as their replacement. New Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson will have the chance to play under Belichick and he is super excited about his jersey number.

The Patriots traded Chase Winovich to get Wilson. It’s a great opportunity for the talented player. New England traded Wino to get another linebacker but it looks like Belichick knew what he was doing.

Wilson took to Twitter to announce a big change. He wore No.51 with the Cleveland Browns and will wear No.30 with Belichick’s team. It’s time for a change and changes are always a good idea.

“Back to my glory days,” the 24-year-old tweeted. “Can’t wait to get things rolling this year (is going to) be special.”

New Patriots linebacker motivated by new jersey number

Wilson seems to be really excited about his time with the Patriots. He was probably waiting for a chance to put on a Patriots jersey. This particular jersey number is really special for Wilson because it’s the same number he had at Alabama.

Getting Wilson was a good move for the Patriots because Wino wasn’t really a factor in their defense. Wilson is a fifth-round pick for the Browns and Wino entered the NFL in the same year. Of course, the newly-acquired Patriots linebacker is younger than Winovich.

Wilson will have a chance to work with familiar names. He and Mac Jones worked together at Alabama. He also spent time with running back Damien Harris, defensive tackle Christian Barmore, and linebacker Anfernee Jennings. Jones likes the idea of sharing the field with Wilson and the Patriots could benefit from this reunion.

The Patriots are thin at linebacker. They released Kyle Van Noy and Dont’a Hightower has yet to make a move in free agency. The same goes to Jamie Collins.
