NFL Insider Claims 49ers Will Trade Jimmy Garoppolo To Patriots Rival

One trade suggestion sends Jimmy Garoppolo to another team and it’s not the New England Patriots. Yes, the former Patriots quarterback has been making headlines for years. The whole thing started when the Patriots shipped him to the San Francisco 49ers. Garoppolo didn’t play his best football and it looks like his time with the 49ers will be brought to an end. I guess San Francisco doesn’t really plan to make things easy for head coach Bill Belichick and his team.

Wild trade sends Jimmy Garoppolo to strong opponent, Patriots are not an option

According to Field Yates, Garoppolo will soon have a new home. It’s not New England. The NFL insider says that Garoppolo will be starting games with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022. Does this make sense? Yates predicted starters for each and every NFL team and he bets on Garoppolo and the Steelers.

“The Steelers have a massive need, cap space to afford him and are far enough down in the draft order in a class that doesn’t offer any surefire quarterback prospects that a veteran trade makes sense to keep this team in the playoff mix,” Yates wrote on ESPN.com.

Guess who agreed with Yates? Colin Cowherd made similar comments on FS1’s “The Herd.”

Garoppolo and John Lynch gave us a few reasons to believe that the veteran won’t play with the 49ers in 2022. The team plans to rely on Trey Lance. We all know what that means. Cowherd explained that the Steelers feel right at the moment. He added that Ben Roethlisberger played really bad in 2021 which would force the Steelers to pick another option. Cowherd insists that the Steelers ink Garoppolo to a two-year deal. Here comes the shocker. Cowherd would only ask for a corner. That would be a bit embarrassing because Garoppolo is really talented and has plenty of experience.

Garoppolo will definitely go somewhere else. A lot of people thought that he’d join the Patriots. Bill Belichick has Mac Jones, Brian Hoyer, and Jarrett Stidham. Why would he get someone he traded away years ago?
