N’Keal Harry Patriots Future Takes Significant Hit With This NFL Memo

The New England Patriots are expected to make many changes in the offseason. Head coach Bill Belichick needs to pack his roster with talent. Some of his players will enter the open market as unrestricted free agents. In other words, Belichick will have to cover up the holes on his 2022 roster. Of course, the head coach will also consider cutting ties with several players. N’Keal Harry is one of these Patriots players and his future with the team may be hanging in the air.

Harry is a first-rounder. Remember that? Yes, Belichick used his first-round pick to get Harry. Unfortunately, the wide receiver didn’t meet expectations. He battled injuries and this wasn’t even his biggest problem. Harry was given a chance to make an impact and he didn’t use it. To make things worse, he even requested a trade through his agent. The wide receiver found a way to fit in the 2021 roster. Harry showed great flashes in training camp, but it wasn’t enough.

N’Keal Harry may not be a Patriots WR in the future

The WR is not in a good position right now as the Patriots may not exercise his fifth-year option. The Patriots have to make a decision until May 2. Will they guarantee him $12.425 million for the 2023 NFL season? In 2022, Harry will earn $2 million.

Harry added fuel to the fire last offseason. He had the courage to request a trade despite his poor performance. He did worse than any other player on the Patriots roster. Although Belichick wanted to give him a chance, Harry didn’t consider using it. NFL analysts claim that Harry may be a better fit for another team. He is talented, but the Patriots couldn’t find a way to unlock his potential.

Losing Harry won’t even affect the Patriots. He didn’t have a big role with the team in 2021. Oh wait, he didn’t even make an impact. Harry wasn’t a factor in the Patriots’ gameplan. Let’s see how will the Patriots handle Harry’s situation this summer.
