Patriots Create New Position For High-Profile Personnel Evaluator

The New England Patriots have made a lot of changes to their staff and they also included a new position. The departure of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels triggered an avalanche of moves and the Patriots will enter the regular season with new names on their staff. Dave Ziegler left the Patriots, too. He will be joining forces with McDaniels in Las Vegas. The Patriots replaced him with Matt Groh.

And yes, they didn’t even stop here. Two staffers will take new positions in the upcoming season. Eliot Wolf is now director of scouting. He was the team’s scouting consultant and has definitely earned this promotion. This is a really big change because the Patriots didn’t have anyone at this position for years. Decades. The Patriots haven’t had a director of scouting in the last two decades. Bill Belichick has never worked with someone on this position.

Patriots have big name on their new position

New England got a talented executive who has spent time with the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns. In other words, Wolf knows his job. He will be of great help in the upcoming season. The Patriots are open to many changes and they really needed fresh power at this point.

Wolf tried his chances as a general manager but he didn’t get a chance to work with other NFL team. He will now work under great Bill Belichick. You don’t get the chance to play with Bill Belichick every day, right?

This is not the only change Patriots made. Camren Williams is no longer national scout. The Patriots now have a new college scouting director.

Steve Cargile is the pro scouting director. He’s been on this position for a decade and the Patriots didn’t consider making a change in this aspect.

The Patriots have big holes on their roster. New staffers will have to work really hard to get the players Belichick needs to win games in 2022. The Patriots didn’t make the playoffs last season and they will definitely work harder to make it happen this time.
