Patriots Free Agent Seeking Huge Money

The New England Patriots may lose a big chunk of their roster this offseason. Several players are entering free agency and some of them will probably go somewhere else. Patriots cornerback JC Jackson is a free agent too and the team didn’t tag him.

Jackson had this feeling that the Patriots didn’t want him anymore. He is well aware of his great skills, but the Patriots didn’t emphasize that. Jackson was a bit concerned about this. The team approached him in the regular season, but they never offered a deal. Belichick may have a plan for the top cornerback after all.

Enter Jackson’s demands.

What’s next in the line? Jackson is becoming unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career. In other words, he wants nice cash. Mike Giardi from the NFL Network reported that the Pro Bowler will talk to suitors who give him “Jalen Ramsey money.” Is that too much?

Patriots free agent to get Jalen Ramsey money?

In 2020, Ramsey inked a five-year deal worth $100 million. The Los Angeles Rams were happy to get him. This deal includes a $25 million signing bonus and $43.7 million guaranteed at signing. Ramsey is the highest-paid corner in the NFL.

Will Belichick give him this money? Will other NFL teams offer the same amount? Jackson really likes the Patriots and he’d love to stay around for a while.

Pro Football Focus believes that Jackson will sure become one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league this offseason. PFF predicts that Jackson will get a four-year deal worth $720 million with $56 million guaranteed. Greg Bedard noted that the Patriots corner will probably get $15 million per season with $35 million guaranteed.

NFL teams could offer the Patriots trade compensation in order to avoid any competition with rivals to get Jackson as an unrestricted free agent.

Guess what… The NFL world stands with Jackson.

Jackson helped the Patriots build great defense. He finished the 2021 NFL season with 58 tackles and eight interceptions. The corner also had 23 passes defended.
