Patriots Linked to WR That Bill Belichick ‘Loves’

The New England Patriots have a few WR options at the moment and head coach Bill Belichick would love to get one particular player. The team has to fill up the holes on their roster. They need a star wideout because Julian Edelman is retired. Belichick would gladly get another player like him. Jules was the most hardworking player he has ever worked with. How about Devante Parker?

We do know that Belichick likes the Miami Dolphins star player. Sam Monson from Pro Football Focus tweeted Parker may go somewhere else now that his team got Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins have great players in Jaylen Waddle, Hill, Cedrick Wilson, and Mike Gesicki. They may decide to part ways with Parker.

In 2020, Belichick had great words for Parker. He praised the player’s skill set and his athleticism.

“Devante [Parker] he’s got a very very good skill set,” Belichick said ahead of the Week 1 meeting in 2020. “He’s a big athlete that runs well, has good hands good, has run after the catch ability and good quickness for his size. So he presents a lot of problems on deep balls as a big target, on intermediate routes in cuts and crossing routes things like that. He’s strong and can break tackles as a catch-and-run player so he attacks all three levels of the defense and can be productive at all three spots.”

Belichick praises talented opposing players and Parker is no exception.

Patriots can get the WR Bill Belichick likes

Anthony Cardenas of FanSided came up with the perfect scenario for the Patriots and he would gladly send Parker to New England. He even insists that New England is the best landing spot for the talented player.

“The Patriots have been notoriously sub-par when it comes to big names at the wide receiver position. This was especially true in Tom Brady’s final years and is still the case today,” Cardenas detailed. “Parker would immediately become the top target for Mac Jones. Belichick would be sure to utilize his size and catch radius to make him the feared target that he always should have been.”

The Patriots spent a lot of money last offseason. Belichick doesn’t have too much cap space to work with right now and he may think twice before pulling out a big deal.

“New England currently has the 11th most expensive wide receiver room in the league, thanks in very large part to Nelson Agholor’s $14.8 million cap hit,” Cardenas added. “But should the Patriots brass be able to move money around and should covet Parker’s services, then this could be the destination that makes the most sense for the wide receiver.”
