Report: Anthony Davis Targeted Return Date Revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers are without one of superstars and their record is pretty bad right now. Anthony Davis suffered a MCL strain on February 16 and the Lakers have yet to confirm the return date. Davis had to stay on the sideline in the last couple of months and Lakers head coach Frank Vogel confirmed that he had his first full practice.

The Lakers are out of the playoff race at the moment and may not even make the play-in tournament. To make things worse, they play against strong opponents.

Does it get worse than this?

“Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who is missing Tuesday’s game in Dallas with a left ankle injury, is expected to sit out Thursday in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz, league sources told Yahoo Sports,” Chris Haynes reported. “James isn’t the only Lakers player dealing with an extended injury. If Anthony Davis continues to progress in his rehab from a MCL sprain/foot sprain, he’s targeting a return on either Friday at home against New Orleans or Sunday when Denver visits, sources said.”

This makes things a lot easier for the team. Davis will help the team get the best of the game and he will also take some of LeBron’s workload.

Lakers fans want Anthony Davis on the floor, look forward to his return date

LeBron and Davis work really well on the floor, but they haven’t played together a lot. Both players missed many games and the result is here. Staying healthy is of utmost importance right now and the Lakers have to win a championship.

“Very short window,” Davis said of the window he has to win a ring alongside LeBron. “We don’t know how long he has left in this league. Phenomenal player, future Hall of Famer, and to be able to play alongside him, you want to take advantage of it. We did the first year. Last year we both were banged up, and then this year, it’s [injuries] again but more so me. So every day it’s closing. That’s another frustrating part. A lot of guys don’t get to play with talent like that. I have the opportunity to do so. … I want to take advantage of that time. He has another year left with the Lakers … and then who knows? I don’t know what he’s going to do. So we got this year and next year to try to take advantage of that and get another ring out of it.”
