Report: Lakers Are Now Out Of The Playoff Race

The Los Angeles Lakers added another loss to their chart. The team struggles to win games and the latest loss to the Dallas Mavericks was like adding salt to the injury. Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks took advantage of the whole situation and stacked a healthy 18-point lead. Anthony Davis’ absence was just too much. He had his full practice with the team, but is yet to return to the floor. LeBron James deals with a nagging ankle injury. Does it get any worse than this? The Lakers are out of the playoff race. They may not even get a chance to take part in the play-in tournament and snatch the eighth seed.

It’s interesting to note that the Lakers entered the regular season as favorites to win the title. Rob Pelinka brought a bunch of great veterans and packed his team with talent. Did this help them win more games? No. The Lakers traded Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavioud Caldwell-Pope to get Russell Westbrook but this move was one of the biggest mistakes LA made. Yes, Russ is one of the better players in the NBA, but he is not a good fit for this Lakers team. He has great stats but his turnovers made fans angry. They call him names every time the team loses a game. It’s like fans are not even interested in giving him a chance. Westbrook is a good player but he didn’t help the Lakers make the playoffs.

LeBron is leading the NBA in points, but he couldn’t take the team to the playoffs on his own. His teammates didn’t do their job and their inconsistency made everything worse.

Let’s see what happens in the next few games. The Lakers have a few games left on their schedule, but analysts are not really optimists. It’s hard to make a prediction of any kind. The only thing we can do right now is sit and hope that the team wins most of the remaining games on the regular-season schedule.
