Russell Westbrook Eclipses Lakers Icon For NBA History vs. 76ers

Russell Westbrook is making history but the Los Angeles Lakers keep losing games. The Lakers played against the Philadelphia 76ers and… lost the game. LeBron James missed the game due to knee soreness and his team couldn’t beat the Sixers. It was an expected loss because LeBron’s absence doesn’t bring any good. LeBron is carrying the team on his back and players manage to win game with his help. LeBron and Anthony Davis are out and the current record is not really great.

Russ is all-in when it comes to winning games but his arrival in Los Angeles was not a good idea. The team traded three players and a couple of picks to get Russ. He was supposed to be of great help for the team but it didn’t happen. His struggles are real and Lakers fans boo him every time he makes the floor. That’s not all. They also call him “Westbrick.”

Fans are trying to get inside Russell’s head, but he doesn’t pay much attention to their heckling. His stats are good and I guess this is the only thing that matters right now. The Lakers have a few games left and Westbrook can’t do much at this point.

Russell Westbrook won’t stop making history

Westbrook finished Wednesday’s game with 24 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. He made his way past Lakers icon Elgin Baylor for 32nd on the all-time scoring list. He has 23,164 points and needs one point to pass Dwyane Wade and 13 points to pass Adrian Dantley. The next target? James Harden. Westbrook will have to give his best to pass the veteran.

“With his fifth field goal of the night, Russell Westbrook passed Elgin Baylor for 32nd place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, via Lakers PR,” Ryan Ward wrote.

Westbrook was given a chance to fit in the roster. Maybe the front office will keep him around for longer. Rob Pelinka will have to make a decision in the offseason. He didn’t trade Russ at the deadline. Will he trade him now?
