Anthony Davis Doubles Down on Lakers Championship Chance if Healthy

The Los Angeles Lakers are outside the playoff picture at the moment. LeBron James is missing games. Anthony Davis seems to be healthy, but he has already missed too much time. LA lost a lot of games in the regular season. According to experts, the Lakers may not even make the playoffs this season. Players suffered too many injuries and COVID forced some of them to stay away from the court for a long time. If you ask Anthony Davis, he will say that the Lakers had a chance to win the championship.

Of course, players had to stay healthy to accomplish this. Injuries shut down their season. LeBron and his teammates were optimists but things didn’t go the way everyone planned. Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka signed a bunch of great players in the offseason. Carmelo Anthony got a chance to do his thing, too. Russell Westbrook came all the way to LA and got a big role. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the best of it.

Pelinka traded three players to get Westbrook. He is an incredible player, but he wasn’t a good fit for the 2021-22 Lakers roster. To be honest, Westbrook is not the only problem LA had this season.

Anthony Davis knows that the Lakers could win a championship

The fact that Davis and LeBron didn’t even get a chance to play more time together says it all. These two make a lethal duo, but injuries forced them to miss a lot of time. Health was a big factor this season and the results are here.

If you ask Davis, he will say that his team is a championship contender. NBA veterans joined the team to get their ring. Well, no one planned that they’d suffer all those injuries.

The Lakers big man is really frustrated. He knows that his team can accomplish a lot. He shared the floor with a bunch of great players.

Davis really thinks the Lakers could’ve won their trophy if they had been healthy throughout the season. Yes, we can definitely say the same. Hopefully, players will make the play-in tournament. We still have hope, right?
