Josh McDaniels Obviously Trying To Avoid Replicating ‘Patriot Way’ In Vegas

The New England Patriots lost a valuable member of the coaching staff. Head coach Bill Belichick will work with different assistants in 2022. Some of these guys have been part of the Patriots in the past. Josh McDaniels left the team to join the Las Vegas Raiders and everyone is talking about his experience with the Patriot Way.

McDaniels decided to take his talent somewhere else. He really wanted to be a head coach and the Raiders gave him the opportunity to follow his dream. McDaniels’ great work with rookie quarterback Mac Jones made him an incredible candidate for pretty much every coaching vacancy. McDaniels had a short stint as a head coach but it didn’t work. The Patriots didn’t want to give up on him because he was doing a wonderful job with the offense. McDaniels’ offense was lethal and NFL teams had to coach against a really talented scheme.

Josh McDaniels won’t follow the Patriot Way in Las Vegas

Many thought that the Patriots would give McDaniels the main role on the field. Was he the right person to replace Bill Belichick? We will never know. McDaniels is off to a fresh start. He will face his former team as a head coach of the Raiders.

Will McDaniels use the same scheme in Las Vegas? Not everyone can do that. NFL teams have tried to replicate Belichick’s scheme, but it didn’t work. It’s just too much. Patriots players and coaches have no days off. They work really hard to do all those great things on the football field.

Well, McDaniels will have a fresh start with the Chargers. Duron Harmon is part of the Raiders as well. According to him, McDaniels won’t follow the same pattern with his new team.

The Raiders have a few former Patriots on the roster.

“I think it helps,” Harmon said. “He’s trying to create a culture that is not the Patriot Way. He’s said it over and over.”

Dave Ziegler is the new general manager for the Raiders. Too many Patriots in Las Vegas, right?
