LeBron James Shows Full-Fledged Support For Russell Westbrook After Point Guard Shares Audio Defending Himself

LeBron James and Anthony Davis really wanted the Los Angeles Lakers to get Russell Westbrook. The experiment didn’t work and Rob Pelinka traded three players and some picks to get the nine-time All-Star. Westbrook’s struggles were obvious early in the regular season. Pelinka decided to move on with him.

The Houston Rockets were the only team to show interest in Westbrook. However, they wanted a first-round pick. Pelinka didn’t want to give up on the opportunity to rebuild his team and denied the offer.

Westbrook earned an army of haters and most of them were Lakers fans. He is a California native but fans were fed up with him. Westbrook was shooting bricks and his turnovers added salt to the injury. It was so bad that his family didn’t attend home games. Westbrook didn’t want them to hear all the names he gets throughout the game.

The Lakers fired Frank Vogel and many thought that Westbrook would be the next to go. He made more mistakes than any other player on the roster. Russ shared a cryptic post on Instagram, but most fans got the message. Did Westbrook try to defend himself?

LeBron heard the audio Westbrook posted on social media. His reaction was a bit awkward. Yes, LeBron really liked his teammate but he was really disappointed when Westbrook’s struggles became a huge burden for the team. Some say his body language was too obvious. Well, guess what… LeBron shared his support for Westbrook in the comments section.

Westbrook had good numbers this past season but didn’t take his teammates to the title. He was averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game while going 44.4 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Let’s see if this is enough to keep him around for another season. The Lakers have to make a decision and get rid of all the players who don’t fit in their gameplan. Oh, yes, they also need a new head coach. Vogel is out, remember? The Lakers will have to find the best replacement.
