New England Patriots Fans Destroy Tight End on Birthday
Dalton Keene is celebrating his birthday! The New England Patriots wished him a happy birthday on Twitter. Well, Patriots fans criticized the tight end instead of delivering warm birthday messages. Did they do the right thing? It got a bit ugly at one point. Patriots fans can be really hard on players.
Rob Gronkowski decided to retire, leaving a big hole on Bill Belichick’s roster. Gronk enjoyed his time off, but came out of his retirement to join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. TB12 joined the Buccaneers through a two-year deal. Getting Gronk on the same roster was one of the demands he had. Well, that’s what rumors say. They won a trophy in their first year together, so they both enjoyed the experience.
Gronk’s departure forced Belichick to try new names. Patriots owner Robert Kraft insisted that Belichick spends a lot of money in 2021. The head coach spent a huge chunk of the space cap to get the players he needs. His draft picks to do their job, but they didn’t. To be honest, Keene didn’t even meet expectations. Many thought he’d be the right replacement for big Gronk. It didn’t happen.
Patriots tight end gets unexpected “birthday wishes”
The Virginia Tech prospect struggled to make an impact, delivering just three catches for 16 yards. Fans have a few reasons to be frustrated.
We saw a lot of tweets reminding Keene of his failure. Some weren’t even sure if he is still in New England. Yes, fans weren’t too kind.
Ahh yes another example of bills genius trading up for two tight ends then getting literally nothing out of both and going out and guaranteed 30 million to a bust TE and making hunter henry one of the highest paid at the position. All while refusing to sign a legitimate WR1

Is he still on the team? Didn’t see him on the field last season

That guy still on the team?

Will these messages motivate Keene to do better?
The tight end is on his second year with the Patriots. He signed a four-year rookie deal with the team. It’s not like he had a chance to do something great with the Patriots either. Belichick got Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith in 2021, and Keene never got a chance to do something great.
The Patriots used Keene’s run-blocking ability. He took snaps at fullback throughout the regular season. How will they use his talent in 2022? It’s a long offseason. Belichick will have to make a decision.
