New England Patriots Possibly Planning to Acquire a No.1 CB

The New England Patriots are getting ready to make big moves this offseason. They don’t have too much money to work with, but they can pull out a few moves to get the players they need. According to several reporters, the Patriots may do an effort to acquire a star CB.

Truth is, the Patriots really need a cornerback. JC Jackson left the team in free agency, leaving a huge hole on Bill Belichick’s roster.

The New York Giants have been looking for ways to trade Saquon Barkley, James Bradberry, and Kadarius Toney. Bradberry could make sense for the Patriots.

Experts believe the Patriots should look for a wide receiver. However, Belichick needs a cornerback. He lost Jackson and also lost Stephon Gilmore. The 2019 Defensive Player of the Year was roaming around, looking for a home in the NFL. The Patriots traded him early in the 2021 season and he entered the open market once again. Gilmore’s talent attracted the attention of many teams and he signed a deal with the Indianapolis Colts.

Bradberry is an excellent player. He could be the best cornerback on the Patriots roster.

Patriots to acquire other CB stars this offseason

Lance Zierlein has another option for the Patriots. He bets on Kyler Gordon from Washington University. However, young Gordon still needs time to develop his skill set.

“His blend of play strength and explosive burst affects the passing game from the press, off-man, and zone coverages,” reported Zierlein. “He plays with an alpha demeanor and hitting is definitely part of his overall package. Gordon lacks polish and needs to play with better route recognition and anticipation, but if those elements click, his ball production could be near the top of the league as one of the top playmakers in the game.”

Gordon will find his home in late in the first-round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Patriots have the 21st overall pick. Mel Kiper from the NFL Draft believes the Patriots will have a few other options in the upcoming period. Let’s see what happens next in New England.
