Patriots’ Malcolm Butler Not Concerned About Losing Step After Year Off

The New England Patriots brought a familiar name back in the game. Veteran Malcolm Butler decided to re-sign with the Patriots despite having a year off. I guess talented players like him don’t mind spending a lot of time out of the game. Butler is one of the better players on his position. Head coach Bill Belichick and other Patriots players are more than excited about this reunion.

It’s interesting to note that Butler will join the Patriots after the infamous benching. Belichick decided to bench him in Super Bowl 2017 but now he got him back.

Butler had a session with the media and talked about all the great things he is expected to do in the upcoming season. Having all that experience will get Butler fit in the 2022 roster. He is an incredible player and the one-year break won’t even affect his performance. Butler is having his regular workout and he won’t even miss a beat this year.

“It ain’t happening like that over here,” Butler told the media. “I’m confident I got it. I’ve worked hard. I didn’t sit on the couch all offseason … I’ll defeat (those) odds, I’m telling you now.”

Malcolm Butler worked hard in his year off

Butler was a key player for the Patriots roster. He spent time with the Tennessee Titans and called it career. Well, now is the perfect time to join the Patriots. J.C. Jackson left the Patriots in the offseason, leaving a huge void on the 2022 roster. That’s what makes Butler’s arrival even more special. He will get a big role again and fans trust his potential. Butler trusts his own potential too. Should we even bother saying that Belichick trusts his potential as well? No?

The Patriots are entering another important season. They made some mistakes in 2021 but had a seven-game winning streak. Mac Jones and his teammates should do even better now. Belichick will fill the voids with great players and has a plan for each and every target on his list. Let’s see how things go for players. Building strong connection is really important now.
