Patriots Reportedly Have Contacted Odell Beckham Jr. About Contract

The New England Patriots considered signing Odell Beckham Jr. and they even wanted to give him a good contract. The team has been linked to the star wide receiver for quite some time. He didn’t want to stay in Cleveland and the team traded him to the Los Angeles Rams. It was a good move for the wide receiver because he won a ring with the team.

Bill Belichick appreciates everything Beckham has accomplished in his career. He wanted to get him on his team, but it didn’t happen. Jeremy Fowler from ESPN reported that the Patriots contracted Beckham about his potential future with the team. According to him, the team still wants him and the wide receiver has shown some interest too.

The Patriots may still give Odell Beckham a good deal

Beckham sustained a serious injury in the Super Bowl win. He will need more time to recover, but this didn’t stop the Patriots. They need a star wide receiver on the roster. Julian Edelman is no longer part of the team and the Patriots could use someone with similar potential.

Odell is a good options for the Patriots and fans still hope to see him put on a Patriots uniform.

“Watch for the Patriots here,” Fowler said Friday during an “NFL Live” appearance. “I’m told they at least had some exploratory talks early in free agency. … Beckham has interest in Bill Belichick, potentially playing for him. There could be some mutual stuff there. So, something to keep in mind.

“But there’s no real rush here, from what I’m told, on both sides — either with the team or with Beckham.”

Beckham likes the Patriots and he entertained the idea of playing with Bill Belichick.

The best part? Belichick and Beckham have nothing but respect for one another. This appreciation will probably help him make a decision on his future with the NFL.

Is there any chance for this to happen? He is one of the best receivers in the NFL. Will Belichick spend a lot of money on him?
