Potential Blockbuster Sees Lakers Landing Former LeBron James Teammate

The Los Angeles Lakers will have to rearrange their roster and get rid of the players who pushed the team out of the playoff race. LeBron James and his teammates didn’t win a championship this season. Frank Vogel was the first player to leave the team. The front office fired him and now they are looking for a replacement. That’s not all. Russell Westbrook will probably be the next one to go. According to several sources, the Lakers should consider landing LeBron James’ former teammate.

The four-time NBA champion has had many teammates in his career. He had a good relationship with most of them. Kyrie Irving is probably the only exception. There was a tension between him and LeBron and Irving wanted out. He requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team sent him flying to Boston. Irving wanted to coach his own team. Now he is playing with the Brooklyn Nets. Irving had a spectacular performance in the playoffs but his team lost the series.

Well, Nick Wright would actually put Irving and LeBron on the same team again. He has a solution for the Lakers and some fans may not agree with him.

“Only logical solution is a sign & trade: Kyrie for Russ. KD & Russ reunion + Kyrie & LeBron reunion. I suppose the Lakers might also throw in a pick or two. Send it in, Pelinka!” Wright Tweeted on April 24.

Lakers may be landing LeBron James’ teammate sooner than expected

Irving had some struggles with the Nets and it was related to his vaccination status. The NBA allowed him to play. Now he has a player option to pick up. The Nets veteran may decide to opt out and get a bigger deal.

“In terms of my extension, I don’t really plan on going anywhere. This is added motivation for our franchise to be at the top of the league for the next few years, and I’m just looking forward to the summer and just building with our guys here,” Irving said before continuing, “But when I say I’m here with Kevin, I think that really entails us managing this franchise together alongside Joe Tsai and Sean Marks, and just our group of family members that we have in our locker room, in our organization.”

Irving likes his team, but he may try to get a ring with another team.
