Proposed Trade Gives Lakers Former MVP & 2 Impact Guards for Russell Westbrook

The Los Angeles Lakers have to make a few trade moves this offseason and Russell Westbrook would probably be the first to leave the team.

The nine-time All-Star was added to the Lakers roster last season. LeBron James and Anthony Davis wanted to play with Westbrook. In fact, many fans placed the blame on Klutch Sports. Several sources say that the Lakers front office accuses LeBron’s agency for the big pressure. Well, everyone had a good feeling about Westbrook at the beginning. He didn’t meet expectations. He didn’t even look like someone who wants to fit in.

Getting Russ was a bad move. He was set to be the third player behind LeBron and AD, but he was a disaster. The veteran player had issues with former Lakers head coach Frank Vogel. As if this wasn’t enough, Westbrook also had problems with David Fizdale. He wanted to do things his way.

Players were a bit frustrated. Many veterans joined the Lakers to get a ring. It was a disappointing season and it looks like Brodie made everything worse.

Pelinka had a chance to find a trade partner for his veteran. However, Westbrook finished the season as a Laker. He likes the team, but sends mixed signals.

The perfect trade deal ships Russell Westbrook to another team

There have been several options for the Lakers. They had an offer for Westbrook, but Pelinka didn’t want to lose a first rounder. The Houston Rockets wanted Westbrook and a first-round pick. It didn’t happen.

Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report is convinced that both LA and Westbrook want to break the partnership.

ESPN’s trade machine discussed a three-team trade. LA could work on a deal with the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks.

According to this deal, Westbrook and Trey Burke will go to NY. Derrick Rose, Alec Burks, and Spencer Dinwiddie will put on a Lakers uniform. The trade sends Julius Randle to Dallas.

The Lakers could really use a shooter and a playmaker at this point. Oh, yes, they also need a new head coach.

Ric Bucher discussed the topic with an NBA executive. The exec would gladly pick Derrick over Westbrook.

Derrick is aging better,” he told Bucher. “He learned to shoot better, and his basketball IQ is higher. But Derrick was always a point guard. Russell was an athlete who played the position.”
