Russell Westbrook Reveals What’s Changed For Him Lately Amid His Spectacular Stretch of Play

The Los Angeles Lakers packed their roster with talent last offseason, but couldn’t win enough games. If the 2021-22 NBA season ends today, the Lakers won’t even make the play-in tournament. No one could ever predict this. The Lakers got Russell Westbrook and his trade changed the situation to the worse. He didn’t give the Lakers the much-needed dominance. He came to LA and things went down the hill.

Lakers fans call him “Westbrick” just because they thought that he is the only person responsible for the mess. Well, Westbrook is one of the most competitive players and the NBA. He delivers great numbers each night. He also delivers too many turnovers. Russ’ stats didn’t help the Lakers win games.

Russell Westbrook knows that his game has changed

The nine-time All-Star got even better in the last few games. Westbrook delivers monster performance each night and he is definitely trying to fix the damage. He wants to see his team in the play-in tournament. Westbrook wasn’t the best fit for the team and it seems like he is trying really hard to earn his salary.

“Just being in better position on the floor and just turning the page on whatever happened,” Westbrook said. “It’s about finding a way to be effective. It’s still a little bit difficult at times, but I’m just trying to play the best way I know how to play regardless of the situation. Just trying to continue competing.”

In the last seven games, Russ is averaging 22.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game while going 52.1 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Anthony Davis is coming back and LeBron James feels slightly better. Westbrook is doing better and his improvement will definitely help the team. These three could become the lethal trip Rob Pelinka wanted to see on his court. LeBron didn’t shut down his season. He did joke about his season being over, but I guess he is getting ready for a big comeback. Let’s see what happens at the end of the regular season.
