Chase Winovich Throws Mild Shot At Patriots When Asked About Browns

Chase Winovich didn’t say much on his way out of his former team, but now he is taking a shot at the New England Patriots. The Patriots got Wino for a reason, but his time was up. Head coach Bill Belichick made a move and shipped Winovich to the Cleveland Browns. The talented player didn’t reveal too much about the trade and his reaction was sort of mild.

Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal asked Winovich about his game with pass-rusher Myles Garrett. Well, Wino used the opportunity to take a shot at the Patriots.

“Yeah, I’ve definitely thought a lot about it,” Winovich said. “These are things that I’m kind of trained as a Patriot to not speak about but, yeah, I’ve thought a lot about what we could do together on the football field.”

Chase Winovich takes a shot at the Patriots despite good stint

The former Patriots player has a chance to start all over again. The Browns didn’t the best season in 2021, but they sure found a good player in Wino.

“In life, we’re very quick to assign things as good or bad, success or failure, this or that,” the 2019 third-round pick said. “But I think ultimately that removes any possibility, and the possibility is that it could be the best thing to ever happen to me.

“I’m just very thankful that the Cleveland Browns believe in me, and I certainly have been putting in the work and effort to make sure that I?m prepared come season. I’m just really fired up to be here.”

The Patriots made a lot of moves in the offseason. Trading Wino was one of them. Their roster will look a lot different in 2022. It’s a good year for the team and players will work with a different coaching staff, too. Josh McDaniels won’t work with the offense and Belichick may even call plays for the team. This doesn’t change the fact that Winovich is grateful for everything he accomplished with the Patriots. He learned a lot under Belichick, and yes, playing with the Patriots is a different vibe. Most NFL players can’t even handle the Patriot way.
