Dwyane Wade Reveals His Answer to Jordan vs. LeBron ‘GOAT’ Debate

LeBron James is coming off of a bad season and everyone is talking about his future. Well, people can’t stop comparing him to Michael Jordan. NBA fans enjoy talking about this. This debate won’t fade away that easily. Oh, wait, it will never go out of fashion. Current and former basketball players like to talk about it, too. Dwyane Wade decided to address the topic. This man knows how to make people talk.

Wade and LeBron were teammates back in the days, but the former Heat superstar picks Jordan. He spent his childhood days in Chicago and obviously, Jordan is his GOAT.

“I never saw Bill Russell play. I never say Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] play. Obviously they are someone else’s GOATs. But my GOAT, I grew up in Chicago, so Jordan is mine,” Wade said on Bleacher Report’s “Next 25” presented by Coinbase.

Things change every other season and fans pick a different GOAT all the time. They all have different preferences. Some say it’s Kobe Bryant. Others bet on LeBron. Bill Russell is here, too. Wade didn’t fail to mention that LeBron is considered the GOAT in modern NBA. Well, we know he is the real GOAT.

“I also understand that the generation that’s here now, LeBron James is their GOAT,” Wade said. “Before LeBron, it was Kobe Bryant. It just becomes who you grow up watching , who you see and envision and say ’Oh I want to be that person.’”

LeBron considers himself the GOAT for the title he won with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He came back to Cleveland to help them win a championship and that’s exactly what happened in 2016. The Cavaliers overcame a huge deficit and beat Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. LeBron cemented himself as the GOAT and nothing changed in the meantime.

King James is on his way to win a few more rings. He has a few great seasons left and winning a ring is a priority. Things don’t go the way he planned and the Los Angeles Lakers missed the playoffs in the last couple of seasons. We have a few good reasons to believe that this will change next season.
