Here’s Who Will Be LeBron James In New Movie

LeBron James and author Buzz Bissinger wrote a masterpiece in 2009 and “Shooting Stars” will be the new movie you don’t want to miss. Universal and SpringHill Co. are working on the adaptation of the book and it’s crazy. The best part? They have already found a young “actor” who will play LeBron in the movie. The young king has been found!

Marquis “Mookie” Cook is a high-ranking high school basketball player and he definitely fits the scenario. Stranger things star Caleb McLaughlin is starring in the drama, too. He will play Dru Joyce III, a best friend and son of coach Dru Joyce II. Wood Harris plays the boys’ coach. Algee Smith is Illya McGee and Avery Wills is Willie McGee.  Scoot Henderson is Romeo Travis and Khalil Everage is group enforcer Sian Cotton. Dermot Mulroney is Coach Keith Dambrot, Natalie Paul will play LeBron’s mom, Gloria, and Katlyn Nichol is Savannah in the movie.

The filming began this week and the crew set up the scene in locations in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Chris Robinson directs the project.

LeBron James reminds fans of his childhood and adolescence in a new movie

The book and its adaptation chronicle how the Lakers superstar and his closest friends formed a strong bond that kept them going through a soul-wrecking national championship tournament. As you all know, they won a title by the end of high school. Of course, the group had to deal with so many challenges, such as jealousy, LeBron’s success on and off the court, and of yes, broken homes.

We don’t know how young Cook was cast, but we really like the fact that he is a rising star on the basketball court. He measures at 6’7’’, 200 pounds and is a starting forward at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona. The five-star recruit is going to the University of Oregon and rates as the No.2 starting forward in the country. Cook is the No.1 player in Arizona. They picked the best person to play LeBron. We can’t wait for this movie to hit the big screen.
