Josh McDaniels Has Honest Bill Belichick Comment

Josh McDaniels parted ways with Bill Belichick, but there’s nothing wrong between them. The former New England Patriots offensive coordinator decided to chase his dreams and become a head coach. He has always wanted to be a head coach. McDaniels even had a short head coaching stint, but it didn’t work. He agreed to coach the Indianapolis Colts, but changed his mind in the last minute.

Bill Belichick has different ways of doing things. NFL assistants can’t really fit in the Patriot Way. The same goes to Patriots players. The Patriots do everything differently and most assistants struggle to take a leading role after their stint with the team.

NFL analysts accused McDaniels of “poaching” Patriots assistants. He has a few former Patriots assistants on his staff in Las Vegas. Well, McDaniels shut down these comments and said he was just trying to do his job. Is he trying to copy Belichick’s scheme? Not so fast. McDaniels learned a lot during his time with the Patriots, but he is working on his own scheme.

“I’m not Bill [Belichick] and I can’t be. I’m just going to try to be myself and hopefully I can be a good leader for our team,” McDaniels said.

NFL fans didn’t bite into the comments Josh McDaniels made on Bill Belichick

The former Patriots OC didn’t receive many requests for interviews this offseason. The Raiders were the only team to request an interview with him. He interviewed with the team just because he was sure about the job.

McDaniels is more than happy about this opportunity. However, fans had hilarious reactions to this. Some recalled McDaniels’ stint with the Denver Broncos. Others believe that McDaniels will try to follow Belichick’s footsteps.

The Patriots have yet to find a replacement for McDaniels. Belichick watched QB/WR drills in Monday’s practice. Joe Judge and Matt Patricia were there, too. Belichick didn’t make any comments about this, but he doesn’t pay much attention to titles. McDaniels is no longer part of the team and Belichick plans to move on without him. He can do that and much more.
