Lakers Advisor Wants to Trade LeBron James, Build Roster Around 9-Time All-Star

The Los Angeles Lakers will have to make some big moves in the offseason. They have already fired Frank Vogel. Trevor Ariza was released too. Who is next? Russell Westbrook? Well, Phil Jackson will probably go with LeBron James. Will the Lakers even trade LeBron?

Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times appeared on The Doug Gottlieb Show a couple of days ago. He discussed LeBron’s situation in LA and didn’t forget to mention that Jackson would gladly put LeBron on the trade block. Want more? Jackson probably wants to build the new roster around Brodie.

Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that Jackson plays a big role in the search for a new head coach.

“I’ve heard that Phil would like LeBron traded,” Plaschke said. “I’ve just heard that, but I’ve got nothing to back that up. No on-the-record stuff to back that up. I do know that Phil would like to keep Westbrook and try to make that work with him.”

Phil Jackson wants the Lakers to trade LeBron amid big drama

Jackson doesn’t have the best relationship with LeBron. He is close to the franchise, but his relationship with LeBron is a bit awkward.

LeBron heard the comments Jackson made about him and his business associates and he definitely didn’t like the word “posse”.

“I had nothing but respect for him as a coach for what he was able to do,” LeBron said in 2016 to ESPN. “Obviously, he was at the helm of my favorite player of all time (Michael Jordan) and also being there growing up and watching him with the Lakers, but I got nothing for him. It just sucks that now at this point having one of the biggest businesses you can have both on and off the floor, having a certified agent in Rich Paul, having a certified business partner in Maverick Carter that’s done so many great business [deals], that the title for young African-Americans is the word posse.”

This has created a nice base for a new drama. Jeanie Buss really likes LeBron. She did her best to bring him in LA. Yes, she was a bit frustrated at the end of the season, but she wouldn’t trade LeBron. The four-time NBA champion will leave the team before they even think of trading him.
