Lakers Among Favorites to Sign All-Star Playmaker

The Los Angeles Lakers have to make some much-needed changes in order to make the playoffs in the upcoming season. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka didn’t make any significant moves so far except for Frank Vogel’s firing. The Lakers will have Darvin Ham as head coach in the upcoming season. Working on the roster is the next step. According to several sources, the Lakers are considered favorites to get a talented playmaker.

Will Zach LaVine ever consider joining the Lakers? Los Angeles is a top destination for the talented player and he may become a Laker if he decides to leave the Chicago Bulls in free agency. The San Antonio Spurs are considered a top option for the player, followed by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lakers are favorites to land the playmaker, he shares the same excitement

LaVine sure added fuel to the fire. On May 24, he told TMZ that he has “always been a big fan” of the purple and gold.

Well, getting the playmaker won’t be that easy. Pelinka doesn’t have any cap space and he may make a sign-and-trade to get LaVine. If the star guards wants to earn some money, he better ink a deal with the Bulls.

Here’s a fun fact. Klutch Sports represents LaVine. Sean Deveney from Heavy reported that the agency will probably try to give LaVine a max contract with his current deal.

“A lot of this is coming from the agents, where they want to not only get him paid but raise his profile at the same time,” one league source told Heavy. “That is their M.O. The more drama in the process, the better. No one was talking about Zach. Now everyone is. Mission accomplished.

“…It is still Zach’s team. Klutch just wants to make sure everyone knows it.”

Playing with LeBron James is a cool scenario. LaVine would love to share the court with the four-time NBA champion. We believe LeBron feels the same way about him.

“Man, you know, there’s a lot of dudes out there I would love to play with but is it gonna be realistic?” LaVine noted at the time. “…Everybody wants to play with the best players in the world. I would love to go out there and play with, you know, a dude like LeBron James, but you’re not gonna get those type of opportunities I don’t think.”
