Lakers May Have Chance to Make Blockbuster Trade for Nets Superstar Kevin Durant
The Los Angeles Lakers have to make some moves if they want to make the playoffs next season. The team has been linked to several top players. Rob Pelinka has to make a trade or two to make things work for the team. LeBron James came to Los Angeles to win rings and has only won one. According to recent reports, the Lakers may agree to a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
Will they trade for Kevin Durant? Kyrie Irving?
The Nets had a strong Big Three this past season, but things don’t look good at all. Irving missed a big chunk of the season due to COVID mandates and James Harden left the franchise. The Lakers may want Irving, but we can freely add Durant to the mix. Irving may enter free agency this offseason.
“That’s a first-round exit at best — if Durant stays to see it, and according to multiple sources, Durant and the Nets front office have not spoken since they were swept out of the first round,” Winfield wrote on May 24, 2022. “In layman’s terms, if Irving leaves the Nets, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Durant becomes frustrated with the organization’s ability to put championship pieces around him. They failed to do so at the beginning of last season, with none of their top offseason acquisitions — James Johnson, DeAndre Bembry or Jevon Carter — finishing the year in Brooklyn.”
LeBron James says he’d love to play with Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Luka Doncic – “Come on guys, it’s not rocket science. These are great players. Absolutely, I’d love to play with a lot of great players.” #Lakers #Warriors #Sixers #Mavs pic.twitter.com/ogtSHaajBk

Lakers to agree to a blockbuster trade with the Nets
Irving’s situation is really complicated. If the Nets don’t give him a deal, Durant may request a trade. Anthony Puccio from Front Office Sports discussed this possibility.
With two 50-pt games in the last week, @KingJames has catapulted himself into the NBA's leading scorer with 29.7 points per game.

On the latest episode of #TheETCs, @KDTrey5 spoke highly of his Finals rival and discussed the age-old LBJ/MJ debate.

“As Winfield notes, Kevin Durant and Nets haven’t spoken since the season ended, and things can get ugly if they don’t re-sign Kyrie Irving,” Puccio detailed in a series of May 25 tweets. “Appears Brooklyn is reluctant on giving Kyrie a long-term deal. It’s common knowledge that Durant is committed to playing with Kyrie Irving. Letting him walk would only open the door for KD to demand out. Marks is playing with fire if he can’t find a middle ground with Kyrie.”
This is a rather tricky situation for the Lakers. LeBron would love to play with Durant, but we have yet to see the outcome of this potential scenario.
