Longtime Patriots Veteran Reveals If Coach Bill Belichick Has Changed

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick worked with so many different rosters throughout his entire career, but we don’t really know if he changed a bit. New players force coaches to change. Time forces coaches to change. The game itself changes over the years. What about Belichick?

The Patriots head coach enters his 48th NFL season. Belichick is the best football coach of all time. He built a legacy in New England and now he has one major task – keep this dynasty alive. Tom Brady is no longer part of the team, but Belichick has an excellent player at center.

Devin McCourty knows Belichick really well. Belichick became the Patriots head coach two decades ago. McCourty joined the team in 2010. If you ask McCourty, he will say Belichick is as sharp as he used to be 12 years ago.

“I’ve always said, when people ask me what’s Bill like, that he’s the model of consistency,” McCourty said. “Showing up to your job every day, having the same attitude, the same messaging, and being able to do that over and over again is hard. He continues to come in here, Day 1 of OTAs, for however many years it is, and it’s the same intensity.”

Bill Belichick didn’t change his approach

Belichick won’t miss his chance to win a few more titles in the next few seasons. He may be 70, but his dominance makes opponents shake. Patriots players learn a lot from their head coach. Belichick appreciates great players and his team works harder than any other team in the NFL.

“It’s fundamentals, doing the right things, the small things over and over again. He never slips up on that,” McCourty said. “This being my 13th year, I’ve seen that over and over again. It’s hard to replicate, but I think getting an opportunity to play for him as a player has made me a better player.”

The Patriots have entered an important season and players have to continue their success. They had a seven-game winning streak last season and we can only hope for the best this time.
