Mac Jones Teaching Patriots Offensive Coach

The New England Patriots went through a lot of changes in the offseason and their coaching staff will take a different approach in 2022. Josh McDaniels is no longer leading the offense, but the Patriots have yet to make a decision on their next OC. Head coach Bill Belichick was seen observing quarterback/wide receiver drills and many thought that he will actually calling plays for the team. Belichick didn’t reveal much about his role because he is not someone who pays too much attention to titles. Mac Jones will keep his role on the offense and he has already been teaching the offensive coach.

You know, passing the knowledge to people around him. Jones spent enough time with McDaniels and the former Patriots OC helped him unleash his potential. The second-year quarterback will work with a different set of coaches this season, but he is more than ready to pass his knowledge to others.

Mac Jones to have great success with the offensive coach

Joe Judge works with Jones at Gillette Stadium and the quarterback made an interesting comment on their relationship. According to the Alabama quarterback, he and the offensive coach will learn a lot from one another.

“He’s done a great job coaching us. He’s seen a lot of football. Obviously, he’s been around football for a long time, whether that’s as a head coach, special teams, playing the position himself, so he has knowledge that is very beneficial to me as a quarterback,” Jones said Monday. “Obviously, I’m going to learn with him. The goal is to kind of teach each other, move along, and take what he knows, take the experiences that I have, and combine them, and work together as a great team.”

Jones may not be as experienced as Tom Brady, but he had an excellent great start of his career. He led the Patriots to a seven-game winning streak in 2021 and that’s not something you underestimate. Let’s see if he continues this great game in the upcoming season. Some NFL analysts had some concerns about Jones’ potential, but hey, he has just finished his rookie campaign.
