Magic Johnson has his eyes on the NFL team

According to several sources, the Lakers legend has partnered with Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Josh Harris to bid for the Denver Broncos. Sportico was among the first to confirm the plan. The Bowlen family owned the Broncos for 38 years. They decided to put the team up for a sale this offseason.

Johnson is a part-owner of MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers and WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks. He was the lucky charm for the Dodgers. The team brought the 30-year drought in 2020. Four years earlier, the NBA icon watched as the Sparks won their third title and first championship since 2002.

The former Laker has a great experience. He was also the Lakers’ president of basketball operations. Johnson was the one who brought LeBron James to LA. Bringing LeBron was one of the best decisions the Lakers have made as he helped the team win a title.

Last August, Forbes valued the Broncos at $3.75 billion. We have a few good reasons to believe that the team will sell for north of $4 billion.

Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis explained that selling an NFL team requires a lot of patience, because the process involves several parties and “league approval procedures”. Ellis hopes to complete the sale by the start of the 2022 NFL season.
