New Photos Show Patriots Rookies Practicing For First Time Since NFL Draft

The New England Patriots are getting ready for a packed schedule. Patriots rookies were practicing on the field for the first time of the 2022 NFL Draft. The team shared photos of draft picks showing their skills on the practice field. The Patriots rookie camp has begun and now we have a chance to watch them perform. Cole Strange and Tyquan Thornton joined the group as well. The most surprising part? Joe Judge is coaching the offense in 2022. Interestingly, Marcus Jones was nowhere to be seen. The same goes to Pierre Strong Jr. and offensive linemen Chasen Hines and Andrew Stueber. Patriots rookie camp began last Friday.

The Patriots have shown real interest in top undrafted rookies. Head coach Bill Belichick found true gems over the years. David Andrews and Brandon Bolden joined the team as undrafted rookies. Malcolm Butler, J.C. Jackson, Jonathan Jones, Jakobi Meyers, and Gunner Olszewski followed the same path. These players had great success despite the fact that they weren’t selected in the draft.

Future Patriots rookies are practicing for the win

Undrafted Patriots rookies have a chance to make the active roster. In 2021, Quinn Nordin made the 53-man roster.

Belichick got 10 players in the draft and had another nine spots on the offseason roster. According to several reports, the Patriots signed seven rookie free agents on Saturday evening and have two open spots.

Judge really likes Eriq King and the versatile players surprised the entire NFL world with his skillset. He could be an excellent wide receiver. In his six years in Miami and Houston, King was able to catch 61 passes for 520 yards and three TDs. Judge liked his diverse skillset and even had him for a workout at Gillette Stadium in April.

Belichick has entered an important offseason and his team has a chance to have a better record in 2022. The Patriots won a lot of games in 2021, but it wasn’t enough. Mac Jones and his teammates lost the wild-card game to the Buffalo Bills. New England plays against the Bills in the final game of the 2022 season as well. Let’s hope they win this one.
