Patriots Advised to Sign Massive Lineman to Start Ahead of Promising Rookie

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will try to get the best of the picks he made so far in the offseason. The New England Patriots made a few surprising moves in the 2022 NFL Draft. Some NFL analysts didn’t really believe that getting Cole Strange with the 29th overall was a good decision. Well, Belichick did his thing and we won’t even question his moves. Now we have analysts saying that the Patriots should start the massive lineman.

Wonder why? Strange is incredibly talented and has great potential. New England could really use someone like him. That’s why Belichick got him. The Patriots head coach knew that Strange wouldn’t be available when he gets to pick again. Belichick was aware of the fact that Strange belongs to his roster.

Patriots to start massive lineman for a reason

Joe Tansey from Bleacher Report mentioned Ereck Flowers as a potential option for the Patriots.

“Flowers played at least 14 games in six of his seven NFL seasons with the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and Washington,” Tansey wrote. “The durability and experience of the 28-year-old could be vital to the Patriots as they look to mold Cole Strange into a starter.”

This makes sense for so many reasons. The Patriots may start their first-rounder but starting Flowers makes more sense at this point.

“Even if Strange starts, the Patriots could use Flowers to start over Michael Onwenu on the other side of center David Andrews,” Tansey continued. “New England might be content with its current offensive line group, but it would not hurt to have extra depth on the interior.”

Tansey didn’t stop here. He also urged the Patriots to get Odell Beckham Jr. As you may know, the Patriots showed great interest in the wide receiver last season. The veteran joined the Los Angeles Rams and got his ring. Unfortunately, Beckham Jr. tore his ACL and will probably take his time to rest and recover.

It’s a long offseason for the Patriots. Belichick will be working with a group of newcomers and Josh McDaniels won’t be around to help him.
