Patriots Made Unexpected 2022 Regular Season Schedule Request To NFL

The New England Patriots made a special 2022 schedule request right after the release. Head coach Bill Belichick and his players will meet the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. They are finishing the regular season with a game against the Buffalo Bills. What about the remaining games of the season?

According to several sources, the Patriots will avoid playing games in bad weather in December. The team has a road game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14 on Dec. 12. A week later, the Patriots have another road game against Josh McDaniels and the Las Vegas Raiders. Awkward much? Well, Mike Reiss from ESPN reported that the Patriots actually wanted this change. Several other teams made similar requests.

“One of the notable nuggets from NFL Vice President of Broadcasting Mike North was that the Patriots requested to play their games out West back-to-back if possible, which tied into New England ultimately getting four straight prime-time games,” Reiss wrote. “It’s a request other teams made as well, with North noting Atlanta, San Francisco, Miami and Las Vegas falling into that category.”

Patriots made 2022 schedule request despite many challenges

The Patriots have a tough schedule and it seems like players got used to this. Their schedule was pretty tough last season, too. If you go through the schedule, you will notice that the team has five games on short weeks. Players won’t have too much time to prepare for their upcoming games which was also a problem in 2021. At one point of the regular season quarterback Mac Jones complained that his team didn’t get much preparation which led to a loss. NFL analysts criticized the Patriots quarterback for the comments he made, but that was just him being honest.

The Patriots may not have the best schedule, but players will be prepared for the challenge. Jones is building strong bond with his new teammates and that should be of great help for the team.

Beating the Bills should be a priority for the team. They lost the wild-card game and hopefully, they will find a way to beat the rival.
