Stephen A. Smith Says Executives Have Told Him That Anthony Davis Trade Value is Low Because of His Injury History

Injuries put a spell on the Los Angeles Lakers and the team lost many games in the regular season. The Lakers didn’t make the play-in tournament and the front office will have to make some changes. General Manager Rob Pelinka has been advised to trade his players and this also includes his superstars. We have a few good reasons to believe that LeBron James won’t go anywhere in the near future. The same goes to Anthony Davis, but some experts have discussed his trade value.

Davis missed a big chunk of the regular season due to injuries. He missed many games last season as well. When healthy, Davis is one of the better players in the NBA. Unfortunately, he wasn’t really healthy in the last couple of seasons.

The Lakers traded a large piece of their young core to get Davis. He led the team to a championship inside the NBA bubble in Orlando. LeBron built an incredible relationship with his teammate and their chemistry was lethal. Is Davis’ time with the Lakers brought to an end?

The Lakers haven’t discussed Anthony Davis and his trade value

Stephen A. Smith believes Davis’ trade value is really low. Yes, Smith made a few shocking comments these days. He also said that the Lakers should trade LeBron to another team. Now he discussed Davis’ trade value.

“I know for a fact by numerous executives I’ve spoken to, you can’t get but so much value for Anthony Davis because he’s perpetually injured and he’s not reliable healthwise,” Smith said.

The Lakers big man played in just 40 games last season. Davis played in 36 games the year before. He is missing significant time due to his health condition and things don’t look too good for him right now. AD may be an eight-time All-Star, but he didn’t even get a chance to play with LeBron. That’s why the Lakers got him in the first place.

The Lakers have entered a really important offseason and Pelinka has to make the right moves this time.
