Anthony Davis Makes Bold Admission on His Offseason Action

The Los Angeles Lakers lost too many games in the 2021-22 NBA season. Top superstars missed time due to injuries. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka hopes to see each and every player ready for the upcoming season. NBA fans have a few good reasons to believe that Lakers player spend most of their time off in the gym. Well, Anthony Davis made a shocking admission. Lakers fans won’t like any of this.

The Lakers big man enjoys his offseason. He was spotted hanging out with Nuke Squad, a gaming YouTube channel, and yes, fans hoped to get a different response.

Believe it or not, Davis hasn’t “shot a basketball since maybe April 5.”

“I haven’t shot a basketball since maybe April 5,” Davis said. “Probably like April 5.”

April 5 was Davis’ last game of the regular season. It was a game between the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. Players met in Phoenix and Davis didn’t see much action.

Davis played 40 games in the 2021-22 NBA season due to a sprained MCL. He sustained the injury in December and missed significant time due to another ankle injury.

NBA fans were pretty shocked to see Davis zoning out of basketball after the end of the regular season. This eight-second video went viral in minutes. Davis enjoys his time off and yes, everyone thought that he’d get more engaged in the gym.

In one of his previous interviews, the big man was transparent about how he handles the offseason. Not shooting since the regular season ended is part of the timeline. Davis will give his body enough time to heal and then he will go through a six-week weight training. The veteran starts off his basketball activities a month and a half before training camp. Yes, it really “comes back easy.”

The Lakers traded a nice chunk of their roster to get Davis. He even earned a contract extension with the team. Davis is one of the better players in the NBA, but his health has been a reason for concern in the last few seasons.
